Uncataloged serial titles that arrive at the library as new orders or title changes

For new titles (XX calls):
  • Receivers will probably see these first. Once determined to be new titles, they will be given to the Serials Librarian
  • The Serials Librarian will check to see if there is better copy available, meaning an lc or lcd record
  • All titles with an 042/Authentication Code will be routed to the Copy Cataloger for cataloging
  • All other titles will be cataloged by the Serials Librarian
  • Once cataloged, the titles will be routed to the LS2 serials control specialist as new titles and new serial controls will be created.


For title changes:
  • Suspected title changes will be routed to the Serials Librarian
  • The Serials Librarian will download a record and move appropriate orders from the old title to the new title
  • All titles with an 042/Authentication Code will be routed to the Copy Cataloger for cataloging
  • All other titles will be cataloged by the Serials Librarian
  • Once cataloged, the titles will be routed to the LS2 serials control specialist as title changes. The old serial control will be closed and new serial controls will be created for the new titles. Instructions.
