Retrospective Conversion Project

The purpose of the Robert Crown Law Library retrospective conversion project is to check our online catalog against the items on the shelves and with our shelflist. Although the work is time consuming, the result will be a fully cataloged and barcoded collection, and an online database that can be relied on. Sections from all floors require cataloging work, with some more complete than others.

Four major elements must be addressed in order to complete the retrospective conversion of the collection:

Cataloging for materials not currently online, or online with unacceptable records (CSUP, for example).

Barcoding the remaining parts of the collection represented by smart barcodes in the pink binder and by newly cataloged titles generated above or by collection (Reference, for example).

    Review of records in Unicorn.

Review of online catalog and inventory of the collection.
